KISS reign supreme in State Sub-jr Judo Meet

KISS reigned supreme with 33 medals, including 12 gold in the Odisha State Open Judo Championship and Selection Trial for Sub-Junior Boys & Girls, held at Bhanja Kala Mandap here on August 12, 2018. Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar finished second and third with 17 and 10 medals respectively.

According to Odisha State Judo Association (OSJA) press release, more than 300 players and officials from 18 districts/ units participated in this single day event. A total of 29 gold medal winners (both boys & girls) were selected to represent Odisha in the Sub-Junior National Championship, scheduled to be held at Una, Himachal Pradesh in the first week of September.

Hosted by Bhubaneswar Judo Association (BJA), the State Open Championship was inaugurated by OSJA president Priyabrat Patnaik, in the presence of General Secretary Purna Chandra Mishra, CEO Gitanjali Panda, Joint- Secretary Deepankar Das andTechnical Secretary Kandan Murmu.

Secretary to the Governor, MadhusudanPadhi; ACP Sports Officer, B B Parida; Hockey Gangpur-Odisha General Secretary Debasish Gouda and Social Activist Lincon Subudhi graced the closing cerymony and inspired the participants.
